Lest works out
the rest.

  1. An event

“Record the next Houston Texans game.”

You don’t know when it starts, and you don’t have to. Lest looks it up and reminds you a little before. Games, shows, launches.

  2. Your places

“Take the chicken out when I get home.”

Home, work and the gym are remembered after the first time. Arriving or leaving, whichever you said.

  3. When it guesses wrong

The closest Target isn’t always the one you meant.

Open the reminder, tap a different pin on the map, and Lest remembers your choice for next time.

And then

It just
shows up.

No app open, no list to check. iOS wakes Lest when you cross into the area, and the reminder is waiting on the lock screen in the words you said.

How it works

  1. 1

    You say it

Speech becomes text on your iPhone. No audio ever leaves the phone.

  2. 2

    Lest sets it

It reads your sentence for a when and a where, then finds the store near you or the time of the game.

  3. 3

    It comes back

When you arrive, when you leave, or when the time comes. One notification, in your words.

Your voice and your location stay on your phone.

Place reminders use the same region monitoring iOS uses for everything else, and nothing about where you go is sent anywhere. No account, no sign-up. The privacy policy is short and says exactly what leaves the phone.

Questions

Does it work with the app closed?

Yes. iOS wakes Lest when you cross into the area. Location has to be set to Always. The app asks once and says why.

What if it can’t find the time of something?

The reminder still saves and asks you to set the time with a picker. Nothing is ever set at a guess.

What if there’s no when or where yet?

It waits in Thoughts. Say it the moment you stop talking and sort it out later.
