Terms of Use

Effective September 18, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Lest ("we", "us") for using the Lest app. By using the app you agree to them. They are meant to be short and fair.

The app

Lest is a reminder app. You may use it on Apple devices you own or control, under the App Store's standard terms, for your own personal use. We can update the app, change features, or discontinue it; if we discontinue it, active subscriptions will not renew.

Subscriptions and trials

Fair use

Some features (looking up the time of an event, for example) cost us money each time they run. They are for reasonable personal use, and the app applies limits designed so that no real person hits them. Using scripts, automation, or other means to exceed those limits, or to access our services other than through the app, is not allowed, and we may suspend service to an install that does.

Your content

What you say to Lest is yours. We claim no rights to it. The privacy policy describes exactly what leaves your phone and why.

Reminders can fail

Lest depends on your phone, iOS, its location and notification systems, network access, and third-party services, none of which we control. A reminder may fire late, early, at the wrong place, or not at all. Do not rely on Lest for anything where a missed reminder could cause harm, such as medication, safety or legal deadlines. Use it for the errands and the small things it was made for.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a reminder that did not work as expected. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using Lest at any time; deleting the app and cancelling your subscription in iOS Settings ends the agreement. We may end it if you break these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the effective date at the top changes when we do, and a change that matters will be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the consumer law of where you live.
